Then they wake up....

Naptime...

They are so sweet when they sleep. I just don't want to forget one moment!

So Much Fun When They Are Here...

Granny Peggy, Amy, and Maizey came to visit this past weekend. It is so wonderful when they are here, but so hard to see them go. Maizey and Jaya really began playing together for the first time. Granny Peggy and Amy held, kissed, and loved on the girls... The girls just light up when they see them. We crammed a lot into three days, dinners, family reunion, croquet, ect!

Flowers From My Garden

I love summer. Right now, flowers are blooming all over my garden. Beautiful...simply beautiful... Jaya runs all over the yard yelling "Fwowers, Fwowers!" She has even picked a few as a present just for me...Thank you Jaya ;-)

Elynn Laughing

Music to my soul I tell ya...Music to my soul...

Sentences

This little one is talking more and more every day. The last two months a lot of full sentences are coming out of her mouth. For example:

"I want a cookie"
"Elynn is sleeping and napping"
"Jaya is a good girl"
"Elynn is sick"
"Elynn is puking"
"I want up/down"
"Pooh bear is tired"
"I am tired"
"I want to go to the park"

There are several more...but I forget to write them down....

Our Little Genius

Mealtime is not going well. This little girl is SMART. She has figured out that if she doesn't eat solids mommy will nurse her more.

She is showing signs of wanting to crawl. But prefers to be carried.

She knows that if she cries when we put her to bed, her daddy will rock her to sleep.

She knows if she cries in the middle of the night, mommy will let her sleep in her bed...

Behind those beautiful blue eyes is a genius...I tell you...a genius....

We are on to you Elynn Elizabeth......

Don't Ya Wish You Dressed Like Me?

Her pink full body swimsuit and her square toed pink cowgirl boots...It might be a fashion statement most of us are not willing to make. But that's just one of the reason this little girl is soooooooooooo beautiful and special to us!

We bought these for her on Father's Day. She loves them....

Um...ok you can sit on me :-)

We don't allow anyone to be walked on in this house.....

But we do allow them to be sat on :0) Here they are watching Veggie Tales together, because they aren't allowed to watch TV, they think it's a real treat!

If You Have Ever Wondered.....

If you have ever wondered what a potato looks like when left on the grill (still on) over night....here is your chance!

Not my proudest moment...

Happy Father's Day

A few mornings ago as Travis was getting ready to walk out the door Jaya said,

Jaya: I want a kiss! I want a kiss! I want a kiss!

Travis: Ha Ha, yes Jaya, you can have a kiss

It might of been the sweetest words ever. It warmed my heart. We spent the whole day as a family on Father's Day. We all enjoyed it. Jaya and Elynn gave Travis a card that read..

Outside: Happy Father's Day to one of the good guys!
Inside: Sure, the bad guys probably have more fun, but I bet they don't get many Father's Day cards.

I could write about what an amazing father Travis is, but I think the proof is in the pudding. Jaya and Travis road her first horse together, Elynn gets the biggest smile on her face when he either talks to her or holds her. I have millions of stories like these. Frankly, this blog just isn't big enough.

Spotless

I never thought I would be able to write the following phrase on this blog, but here goes.... "My house is spotless, clutter less, and immaculate!"

Yes, you read that correctly. I am as shocked as anyone. It took me over 26 hours, one crying baby, and one needy toddler, but I did it! It's times like this I simply amaze myself.

Conversation with Jaya

This morning a conversation with Jaya went something like this:

Strong oder coming from Jaya...

Me: Jaya did you poop your diaper?

Jaya: No!

Me: I thought we were going to try and go on the potty so you could get a worm and start wearing big girl panties...

Jaya: No poop...it's [just] pee momma!

Silly me, that's the stinkiest pee ever ;-) As you can tell...potty training is not going very well!

He Just Makes Everything Better :-)

Dad is back! Last night we were all smiles. They missed him. I missed him. He just has a way of making everything better....

Thank you my dear sweet Jaya!

This may be the happiest few seconds Elynn has been in FOUR days. Jaya is smart and would try anything to see her little sister happy. Thank you Jaya!

A Miserable Baby

If not held, this is the result....

Made Me Laugh....

Just the last hour, I have been desperately searching for my car keys all over the entire house. The car was open but my keys were no where to be found.... I was thinking, "Oh,great, how embarrassing and awful, I am going to have to call Travis and tell him I lost our only set of keys to the Yukon." I then looked up and guess what I saw? The keys! On the key hook...Profound...I know!

I then took a look at my kitchen counter top...This was un-staged. I just started laughing out loud. A bottle of Tylenol, Pedialyte, syringe, and my favorite beer all sitting together on a dirty counter top. This picture would truly be the best way to describe my ENTIRE week.

Reminds me of a song..."God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy" :-)

Day 4

I have to constantly remind myself to not just blog about the good stuff, but to include the really crappy stuff too. We are going on day 4 of Elynn being sick. The doctors are convinced she just has a bad gastrointestinal virus. Fluids, Tylenol, new diapers every hour, etc. They forgot to mention she wants to be held every second of the day, she is prone to vomiting/diarrhea in her sleep, which wakes her up, and causes me to almost have a nervous breakdown, fever throughout the day that won't stop, and I am paying so much attention to her that I now have a needy semi-jealous almost two year old acting out. My house might be the dirtiest it has ever been...EVER. But this kind of thing wouldn't be complete unless my husband and right arm had a business trip in Edmonton for the next two days....

The phone just rang...It was Grandpa Pat! He is coming to pick up Jaya for the afternoon. I'm so grateful...I need help :-)

Our First Health Scare

Elynn woke up at 1am Friday morning violently vomiting. It continued on throughout the night until she was so pale and weak she could barely move. I held her and fed her most of the night, but it would be shortly followed by throwing up. We took her to the emergency room around 7am. The doctor was unsure of what was causing it. They treated her with Zophran. She stopped vomiting and was fed electrolytes orally. It broke my heart. I felt helpless. I was scared. I prayed...A LOT. She slept most of the day. Fever off and on... She and I stayed at the hospital from 7am til 2:30pm. (Travis and Jaya waited at home) It's now Sunday and she is still not her cheerful self... She is clammy, warm, she cries a lot, and now teething to top it off. It is so awful to see your baby sick.

Jaya and Elynn

They are beautiful. Unique. Special. Sweet. Funny. Happy. Silly. Lovable. There are not words to describe how much I love them.

A Rancher's Wife

It is wonderful when he is around, but it can be a very lonely life being a rancher's wife. They say ranch women and farm women are tough. Well of course they are...because most of the week they do everything by themselves! It's Sunday..I'm lonely...

My Man....

I think my husband is HOT! He's a man of Steel and Velvet. Hot like Gerard Butler/John Wayne/George Straight, ya know a man's man. (He is going to kill me for writing this...) But I want our girls to know how HOT I think their Dad is!! This was date night, out to a wedding reception last Tuesday. We had so much FUN together...We ate, we danced, we laughed. Oh, how I love date night!

Growing Girly Girls :-)

I am all for teaching our girls to be strong and independent, but I would also like them to be feminine. One minute they can hit a home run in baseball, help at a branding, and the next minute paint their toe nails pink...

So tonight was date night...Jaya and I(Elynn watched and cheered)had fun dressing up! Travis had me buy the girls new shoes, Jaya wore a bow, we painted our nails, and even put stickers on them.. (I had saved a gift certificate from Christmas from my in-laws to get my nails done!) Fun...Girly...Bonding..I LOVE having girls!!!!

Elynn is 6 Months Old!

We started feeding Elynn rice cereal on her 6 month birthday. I mixed it with water. She was clearly NOT impressed at all.....

So what did we do? Travis and I tried to read Elynn's brain. So two days later (we are slow) we mixed the rice cereal with breast milk. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...This was the result!

We love you baby girl!

Jaya is 21 Months Old

She is growing up so fast. She has such a beautiful and strong personality. I love her sweet spirit. She is truly becoming "our little helper." We love her....
