Swim and Sun Ready

We have several conversations in our house about sun protection.  Jaya, "We need to wear our sun hats right mom?  We need our cream right mom?"  Me, "That's right Jaya!"  I find a small amount of pride in the fact our children have never been sunburned.  I am hoping they are always this diligent and never touch a tanning bed!  Here's to hoping!!

Heritage Park June 2011

Peggy and I took the kids to the Heritage Park in Calgary this past June. They enjoyed the train, boat, kid's rides, and candy. Peggy and I enjoyed the change of sceenry. We were pretty proud of ourselves for taking three kids under three....

The Three Muskateers and Their Blankets

We strive to be fair.  Everyone has the exact blanket yet each one is a different color.  They love their blankets.  They thought taking this picture was a lot of fun.  We live for these moments.
(ps please ignore the gash on Elynn's face.  That was a Jaya wound)

And then there were three in the tub

Two things I gleam from these pictures. One...I need to start using the red eye reduction. Two... Our bath tub is getting full!  Bathtime is a full family event at our house.  Everyone comes out alive and most of the time clean...

My Kids Aren't Perfect

I'm really not one of those moms that thinks that her kids are perfect and can do no wrong.  That everyone elses kids are the ones with a problem.  No....I have been far to humbled for that.  My children have breakdowns.  Breakdowns because they are hungry, breakdowns because they are over tired, breakdowns because someone took there toy (snack or sippy cup), and lastly breakdowns FOR NO APPARENT REASON!!!  This particular day I just felt like photographing it.  Just because... At the time, it just seemed like the sane thing to do...

Happy Father's Day 2011

We celebrated Father's Day this year at the Bar U Ranch for brunch.  Travis loves Canadian Western History and we love to eat!  So everyone was happy.  The girls love him.  They think he hangs the moon.  When he comes home smiles are plentiful.  He's fun, hands on, and basically super Dad!  I am so grateful for him...

Potluck Picnic in the Park

We had a potluck picnic with five other families from our church.  They all of lots of little ones so it makes get-togethers tons of fun!!!

We Paraded It Up This Summer!

We hit the Longview and Okotoks Parade this summer!  I've never had to wear a coat to a parade before, but then again this is Canada and nothing should surprise me. The girls loved them...ok....they really just liked the part when people threw candy at them from their floats.

Bubbles...

Blowing bubbles are a main past time around here.  They like to blow the bubbles with the wand and they like to pour out the bubble mixture onto the ground.  Awesome....

Carseat vs Rimini

For the first three months of her life she had a love/hate relationship with her carseat.  She loved getting out and she screamed for 98% of the time she was in it!

Enter At Your Own Risk - Hard Hat Required

Not sure what these to goofs were thinking this particular day, but they just HAD to wear what Jaya calls their bike-a-ride helmets.  Sure why not.....

Blackfoot Crossing

We are attempting to more outings as a family.  This particular trip we took a few months back to Blackfoot crossing.  We went with our neighbors the Stroms.  The museum was interesting but I am convinced the girls liked the picnic in the rain way more!

I Love This Age

They don't talk back, they let me dress them up in cute outfits, they think I am the greatest person in the world.  Oh how I love this age!

Rimini Rayabelle 2nd month.....

Grannie is Back

We love having Grannie Peggy back in Alberta!  She has been a ton of help to me and the kids love her to pieces.  It's great living close to family....Now if only I could talk mine into moving next door!

We Love Having Her Around

Several three year olds go to preschool this year for two years of preschool.  We have decided to keep her home longer.  She is so smart.  We love having her around and I figure once we do decide to send her to school she will be in it for the next 16 years.  So why rush it?  We love her home with us!   I heard a comment the other day that as a society we are parenting by outsourcing our children to schools, sports, and activities more and more.  Hmmmm...Interesting....
