I do not like green peas...I do not like them even as a Canadian!

Jaya has quite the aversion to green peas and green beans! No matter how Travis feeds them to her via airplane or rocket ship she still tries to close her mouth and spit them out. Her favorite foods so far are wheat cereal, carrots, and corn mush.

Koah Hope Ross

I would proudly like to introduce Jaya's newest cousin. Koah Hope Ross. She is such a wonderful addition to our family and I can't wait to meet her! She is the daughter of my brother Aamon and his wife Kristen.

Dad's Away for the Day!

Travis had to go to Red Deer, Alberta for a two day cattle convention. So I promised Jaya extra carrot mush and cereal for dinner. I told her she could stay up past her bedtime, unlimited bedtime books, and she could wear her favorite pink pj's. It was girl's night at home! She loved the food and pj's, but she only made it 10 minutes past her normal 7:30pm bedtime (one short book).

We have a new favorite book in the house. It's called Tummy Girl by Roseanne Thong. It's a wonderful book with bright pictures and fun script. So Girl's Night was fun while it lasted but we already miss Travis and can't wait for him to come home.

Happy Belated Valentine's Day

We had a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day up here in Canada. We spent it eating homemade Sushi and playing games with family. Travis gave me a huge soccer ball made of chocolate. (that helps get the baby weight off, right?) It doesn't get better then that!

Let's Eat!

This past week Travis has been feeding Jaya whole wheat cereal each night in her high chair. She loves it (understatement!) He can't scoop it up fast enough. Her eyes get really big and she opens her mouth and he feeds her with a baby spoon. She STILL won't take a bottle, but she loves to drink water out of a glass and get fed by a spoon. Did I miss something? Where did we go wrong?

Hickey's (Ripley's) Believe it or Not!

On the 11th of February we received a training potty from a friend. Her advice to me was start as soon as possible. I had to laugh. I had never heard of a five and a half month old being potty trained so early. I would hate to waste time on a project that would most likely take two years!!!!

We got it home and I thought, "What the heck...it can't hurt anything?" My expectations were beyond low. So I placed Jaya on the potty and of course...just like I had thought...nothing happened. I kept repeating.."Go Potty"..."Go Potty!" She just smiled at me. I then decided to try one more trick. (I wasn't very patient, only three minutes had gone by) So I turned on the facet with my free hand. Immediately after hearing the water she began to pee in the potty!!! I was dumb founded. I thought maybe I had just imagined it. I wanted to call Travis, but I was worried he would think I was off my rocker. So I set the timer on the oven for one hour. After an hour went by I set Jaya back on the potty. After five seconds she began peeing. Who would ever believe me? I really thought world peace was more likely than Jaya peeing on a potty at five and a half months old. It's been three days now. Jaya has peed several times in the potty now. This morning Travis and I watched her and afterwards cheered. (I really think it's the cheering that she likes more then anything!) At night and when we are out she conveniently uses her diaper, but when we are home I set the timer and have her pee every hour. After all, she doesn't talk yet and can't actually tell me when she has to GO!!! Well that's our rendition of Hickey's Believe It or Not!!!

Niece or Nephew????

My brother, Aamon, and his wife Kristen went in to labor early this morning. It is now 12:15pm and I am very impatiently waiting by the phone. I had things I needed to do today but instead am staying close to both phones!!! I am pretty exhausted too, Jaya is now up 4-6 times every night and I am having trouble cooping. She slept better as a newborn then now....

Second Set of Shots...

Yesterday Jaya went for her second set of shots. Once again she received a total of three shots in the upper thigh. She barely even cried this time. She actually smiled at the nurse before and after the shots. Last night she immediately came down with a temperature and at four in the morning threw up all over the carpet. Travis was voted "World's Greatest Dad" when he immediately jumped out of bed and cleaned it all up while I tended to Jaya! I am definitely marrying this guy!!!

Today she just layed around the house. She wasn't interested in doing much of anything. Around noon I bundled her up and took her to pick up her flower girl dress. Our colors for the wedding are black and white. I decided to post a pick of her dress. I love it...It made the whole day brighter!
