34 Weeks Pregnant

This pregnancy has flown bye for all of us. I am so busy with the house and Jaya that I forget to slow down some days. I am reminded the following day when my lower back starts screaming at me. I don't have near the back pain that I had with Jaya's pregnancy. Thank the Lord! The baby is active every night around nine until eleven. The baby is kicking my rib cage as I type right now!

Travis and Jaya have been to all the prenatal check ups at our doctor's office down the street from us. I weighed 163.5 with Jaya at this time in the pregnancy and I weigh 163 with this baby. So we are right on track for our 7 pounderish!

I have already decorated for Christmas, because I am convinced no one is more excited for Christmas in the whole world than me. It sounds a bit selfish but what a wonderful Christmas gift for our family! (and it feels like I have been pregnant for 2 years straight - wait...I have been) So 4-6 weeks to go! We can't wait to meet our new addition!!!

It's Been A Long Time

So much has happened over my 2 month long blog sabbatical, I am not even sure where to start. First, we moved out of our one bedroom condo in Okotoks on October 31st and into a log home in High River, Alberta. The home has three bedrooms upstairs and one in the basement. Jaya is loving having her own room! She runs around the house and scatters her toys everywhere! Travis loves living in High River and being out of the condo. And I am enjoying our very own backyard and huge laundry room. I packed the condo for 6 days straight, Travis moved the boxes to the house, and I unpacked for 10 days. Needless to say we are officially unpacked and it has really started to feel like home.

Here are some pics from Jaya's Costume Party on October 31st...

Jaya was Tiger from Whinnie the Pooh. She loved her costume and ringing on people's houses so she could see their dog... ha ha

Swinging at the Park

The park is becoming an important past time for us. She loves to swing (when Travis pushes her) You can't really tell in this video that she loves to swing but that's not the point...

Jaya's Best Friend Kennedi

Kennedi came over to play last week. Due to violence I did not record Jaya shoving her over 5 times, despite the fact Kennedi out weighs Jaya by 8 pounds. This was a sweet moment. Jaya thinks you are supposed to give everyone kisses now....

Jaya's Favorite Toy

Jaya's aunt Amy gave her a yoddling goat last month. When you press it's mouth it belts out a very loud yoddle (slightly annoying :-) She walks around with it all day. She hands it to me and then asks for it back immediately. It was white a month ago. Now it is a light shade of brown.

Jaya Joy

Not a day goes bye that I won't hear, "you have the happiest baby I have ever seen," or "isn't that the biggest smile, or "wow, she sure isn't shy" (after Jaya greeted them with "Hi" 15 times) She not only brings so much joy into my life, but the lives of complete strangers as well. She is walking, talking, and getting into everything!

Daily she pats my belly and smiles. I tell her the new baby is in there, but I think she just enjoys patting my big tummy (23 weeks.) She doesn't want to be held much anymore. She weighs about 18 pounds and therefore cannot face forward in her carseat yet(the rule is 1 year old and 20 pounds) After naps and when she is tired she will give me tons of sweet hugs and kisses. Outside of that I have become rather uncool (so soon???)

Most of our play pal moms have gone back to work. (maternity leave here is 52 weeks) Leaving very few play options for Jaya during the week. It's been a tough few weeks for the both of us. She wants to get out of the condo more and I miss the motherhood companionship. Jaya still loves the swim pool, park, and Granny's house on Wednesday mornings. Somedays I find myself roaming the isles of Walmart with her. We spend tons of time at the library picking out new books. On Sundays she goes into the nursery at church. She seems to love it.

We love skyping with Oma, Granny, Grandpa Joe, and Amy! Jaya's new cousing was born on the 29th of August. Maizey Rae McGiven! She is amazing and we were thrilled to hear she will be sharing a birthday with Jaya.

Where has the year gone? Jaya is officially one!
