Kids Say the Funniest Things
So I ask Jaya if she wanted to skype Grandpa Joe and Oma this morning. She said "No." Only to find out that the reason she didn't want to skype was because Grandpa Joe would ask her if she went on the potty. (he asks her every time they talk) Jaya proceeds to tell me, "Momma, I need you to go poop on the potty for me." Oh...why didn't I think of that...silly me, that would of solved all of our problems!

Abracadabra (I have no idea how to spell that)
Christmas Cookies with Caera
Caera, Elynn, and I spent most of last Saturday over at our neighbor's house decorating Christmas cookies. We brought the ingredients and they provided the most amazing Kitchen Aide mixer and yummy coffee. We laughed, we told stories, we decorated, we ate cookie dough, and Elynn was able to test 2-3 of the sugar cookies on her own. (Without being detected)

Makin Music
Our girls both love music. Actually, just anything that makes noise... Great for them and slight insanity for me. Travis encourages it (while he is a way at work!:-) I am currently teaching short piano lessons to our 4 year old neighbor, in high hopes that Jaya catches the piano bug.
Well, here is a video of Jaya making music this morning with what she calls are her "SymBALLS" (pot lids from a kid's cooking set) Don't judge it till you've tried it. I think if more adults walked around in their underwear, snow boots, and favorite Dora wife beater, making music while smiling and marching, there would be a lot less anti-depressants prescribed and a higher un-employment rate among shrinks. Just an idea. No clinical evidence to back that theory up...

Polar Bears and Snowbirds
These two are my polar bears. They actually like the snow. They would find any excuse to be outside. As for Elynn and I, we prefer warm summer days, bare feet, and chilled drinks (milk for Elynn and anything with an umbrella for me please). We are officially the snowbirds of this family. I am finding that polar bears go stir crazy while in captivity and snowbirds are ready to fly south after September (We fly south in exactly 30 days but who's counting :-). It will make for an interesting winter. Can snowbirds and polar bears live in captivity harmoniously? I will let you know in June...When the snow melts....

The 2010 Annual Hickey Christmas Photo Shoot
This morning we dressed them up in their holiday best, Travis wore a frog hat to make them smile (priceless), and I did my annual "if you wear your hat I will give you a sucker" routine! They were champs for about 39 seconds. Which may be a new record for this family...
It's nothing short of a miracle, but I just ordered our 2010 Photo Christmas cards. (I haven't sent a Christmas card since before both kids were born) Now..the question is..Can I get them mailed to our friends and family in the year 2010? Not making any promises but I'm sure hoping Santa heard my plea.
These were just a few of the shots we took...
