Hey Mom...

"I'm not sure about this whole camera thing...
My older sister Jaya frowns every time you try to take a picture of her...
I'll think about it..."

"Awe sure MOM! Just go for it!"

So we dressed up today...

After all, why wouldn't we?
Why wouldn't we wear our ballerina outfit on a Wednesday?
Why wouldn't we wear it out in public when we are still young enough that people wouldn't question our sanity?
Why wouldn't we add our own personal pizazz to it by adding a winter sweater and navy blue rain boots...

That's what we asked ourselves today!
Why wouldn't we?

So we clearly did!

I think there is some type of deep moral lesson here...somewhere :-)

My Baby Girl....

"A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for." Author Unknown

The Second Anniversary of My 30th Birthday =)

There are a few things that scare me. Sharks, needles, popping balloons, fireworks that go bang, my great grandmothers old basement, the cellulite increasing on my butt.... but growing old is not one of them. The past two years I have truly started to learn how to "LIVE" in the moment. Enjoy each stage of our babies development, enjoy hot tea with my husband at night, and Sunday car rides with the whole family. I'm enjoying growing older.....

We celebrated my birthday this past Sunday. I love birthdays...(And NO! You are never to OLD to celebrate your birthday!) I love it that there is one day of the year that you will most likely hear from everyone in the extended family, eat your favorite foods, and be reminded of how blessed you are that you made it another year! We celebrated! We celebrated me! We celebrated the new wrinkles! We ate cake! We celebrated life and being together as a family! It's the best birthday present ever...my beautiful family... (ok so the flowers, plants, photo frame, and nursery gift certificate weren't to shabby either :-) Travis's card made me feel pretty good too! "To my wife, It's hard to tell you how much our relationship means to me because just when I think it's as good as it can get....(inside) it gets even better." I couldn't agree more....

Deep Thoughts quote...

This quote spoke to me today...

"You can't take your children further than you've gone yourself. So if you don't clean the toilet, do the dishes, or set a table ... they won't know how. If you haven't shown them or others grace or forgiveness... they won't know how."

Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump

That's right...you read that correctly. And it was fun too! A must see for anyone visiting Southern Alberta. Travis took the day off from work (HUGE deal) and the four of us headed down to this historic site last Monday. We had a blast! The girls were moderately cranky(as seen in the picture below) but Travis and I went through the entire museum. Being a stay at home mom, I often crave intellectual stimulation. I enjoy a good documentary, news article, or educational museum. I can clearly remember hating museums when I was little. Now I find them a form of entertainment. Funny how life works...

"Puke"

I didn't even know this much puking was possible! Elynn literally pukes after ALMOST every meal. I am so used to it that it has become more of an accessory on all of my clothing during the week. "Um, is that puke you ask, why yes, this is new and this has been on there since yesterday."

Yesterday, I was talking to my parents on skype, and Elynn puked on the floor. Without asking Jaya ran to the kitchen, grabbed a dish towel, ran back, got on all fours, and wiped up every last drop of it.

I know that if I want to take a picture of Elynn in a cute outfit, than I had better take it right after the outfit is put on or else it will be covered in puke within a few hours... She has seen a doctor for it, but nothing can be done unless she starts losing weight. (Which she clearly isn't doing) So the puking will continue...

I mopped yesterday...You wouldn't know it...There are spots like this all over our living room. One day we will all laugh about it...Just not today...
