Elynn is 8 Months Old!

She is just showing signs of crawling on her own. She has decided she loves to eat. Among her favorites are squash, sweet potatoes and carrots. She is starting to enjoy playing with toys which has led to a few confrontations with her older sister. She has her own gibberish but has not chosen her first word yet. Her two bottom toothed smile can light up an entire room. She loves taking naps in her rocking chair, but would prefer to sleep and nurse next to me all night. She thinks her dad is the funniest person in the world. Although from this pic you can tell she doesn't really like any other boys. That's ok with me :-) She watches her older sister all day long. She watches people, animals, and kids. Quiet but sweet... Travis was watching her yesterday play on the floor and said, "Aren't we so lucky to have these two beautiful girls?" Yes Travis, we are...

Sister Pics

Jaya decided to boycott the camera during this shoot. I guess this is what I get for having a camera in their face since birth.... (Look how happy Elynn is when held by her daddy. These two have become pretty close lately)

Elynn's Smile

I am sure there is some type of deep "life" lesson here... Something along the lines of "When you get stuck or in a tough spot in life, don't forget to smile." These little people teach me so much everyday. I just love them...

Picnic in the Mountains

Once in a while Travis and I get creative. We do something spontaneous and out of the norm. Last Friday we packed a picnic dinner and drove to the Kananaskis Mountains. It was beautiful and a so nice to be together as a family.

Crystal Shores Beach

Several times this summer the girls and I have hit the lake beach in Okotoks with our mommy & me group. This particular time Jaya was clobbered with mud by her dear friend Wyatt. Elynn put everything in her mouth she could grab, while I played toddler lifeguard. We have stayed very active this summer.

I read an article the other day on the benefits of having babies close together. One of them was that they will all be at the same stage and interested in the same activities. I am counting on this.....

Jaya is 23 Months Old!

"May I have a cookie, please, momma? "I love you Daddy/Momma/Elynn" "I have a poopie diaper, I want a new diaper." "I want to go home Daddy." These are just a few of the sentences you may here around here lately. Including the entire ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and a bad rendition of Oh Canada.... But it's music to our ears. She is funny, smart, and most importantly sweet. Can't believe she is almost two...
