Elynn Elizabeth Turns 4 Months Old Today!

She slept from 8:30pm to 7:20am last night....need I say more? :-) I couldn't be more thrilled! She is such a joy to have around and such a content baby (even when she pukes). She loves it when you get right in front of her face and talk to her or just smile. She is also talking more and more every day and even laughs at Jaya. She had her 4 month shots today and these were the vitals the nurse gave me:

Weight 11 pounds 2 ounces
Height 23 inches
Head Circum: 39.5cm

Our Little Cowgirls...

"There is something about the Outside of a horse that is good for the Inside of a man." Winston Churchill. Well around here Mr. Churchill we replace the word man for girl! Yee Haw

Easter 2010

It's been wonderful having family home and reflecting upon the true meaning of Easter. After all, Jesus and His Resurrection are the foundation of our faith. It's not about being "religious," or "perfect," or "church-goers" for our family. It's about a relationship with Christ and the understanding of His grace/forgiveness. These verses really hit home this week -- Mark 10:18 and Luke 18:19 and Romans 3:10

A Visit from Granny Peggy

We miss her soooooooooooo much. She came for a visit over the Easter holiday. She took Jaya and Elynn to the park, read them stories, let Jaya eat ice cream, and even watched them for a whole night so Travis and I could have a date night!!! I can't tell you how much I love date night. I love my children, but right after them I love date night with my husband! It is such a treat when she visits. The girls love her and Elynn even convinced her to never sit down when she held her (sucker:-)

Jaya is 19 Months Old

Driving already? I'm not sure I'm ready for this... I thought I would have at least fifteen more years to prepare myself. She loves to drive. Grandpa and Dad are happy to indulge her. We can't believe she is 19 months old already. I can't tell you how much her vocabulary increased this past month. She repeats most words and letters. It is funny that she still doesn't make an L sound yet. For example: When she says ELYNN she pronounces her name EAN. When she says PLEASE she pronounces PEESE. The worst though is that her S sound is an SH sound. For example: When she says SIT it comes out SHIT. Um...this will be resolved shortly.

The First Annual Hickey Easter Egg Hunt-a-thon

So we started Easter a little early yesterday. Travis kindly help me assemble 250 plastic Easter Eggs on Wednesday night, and then helped my hide them at 6:30am the next morning. (Although I am convinced he had a GREAT time hiding them :-) We had the Okotoks play group over from 9:30-12:30 yesterday. It was a blast for both babies and moms!!! We were missing a few families due to illness but it was so much fun to see the babies run around and pick up Easter Eggs. I painted Easter bunny faces on all of the kids too. They went on a stroller ride, ate fruit snacks, and played! Jaya would run, pick one up and toss it in her basket. Even Elynn had some Easter fun...
